Pancakes

I had pancakes with the O'Sheas today.  Well, I had pancakes and they had omelets.  Which was probably a bad decision on my part, because I momentarily forgot that at 10:00 tonight, I would be having even more pancakes courtesy of the generous men and women at First Presbyterian Church.  That's right, every year, First Pres cooks a pancake dinner (if you can call 10:00 to 12:00 at night "dinner") for the hungry college students on the last day of classes.  (Who decided that we are hungry, I'd like to know?  There is free food left and right; I feel like you have to really try to not find food.  Whatever.)

"Who are the O'Sheas?" you ask?  Erin and Emily O'Shea were seniors in ASYO when I was a junior (they play flute and clarinet, respectively), and Erin happened to go to U of M, and Emily went ... somewhere in Ohio.  We don't really talk about that state.  Anyway, Emily and Mrs. O'Shea were driving through here this weekend to pick up Erin to go home, so we had lunch together before they left.  We went to Angelo's, a famous brunch restaurant on Central Campus where I hadn't been before today, but I am going again on Thursday with my friend Amanda who is a fellow campus prisoner until she and I go home on Saturday.

I ran through my jury concerto for Dr. Lyman today, and he said it sounded good, so I feel pretty confident for jury on Wednesday.  (Wait, what?  Emily has jury duty?)  No, jury in the music world is just an audition you have a few times throughout your undergraduate years to confirm your competency for earning a music degree.

Next Spring (I mean the Michigan Spring, which begins in May), one of the art professors is bringing students to Florence for a four-week drawing class.  My name all over it, right?!  I went to the info meeting today, an unfortunately, Michigan can give me money for everything EXCEPT the tuition for the class taught by the international organization, which is $2,150.  I'd probably pay for food out-of-pocket, too, so it's looking like a no-go at the moment.  But who knows?

Oh, and I changed the music playlist at the top of this page so that you have to click 'Play' for the music to begin.  Apparently it was startling to some readers.  I also added songs to accommodate a variety of musical tastes, so if you're feeling adventurous, click through until you find something you like.  You can also leave requests for things you'd like to find there next time!

Go Blue!
