Hi! I work for Rec Sports.

I got the job!  I am now officially the Marketing Manager for Recreational Sports Programs at the University of Michigan.  I got the email yesterday during Digital Studio, so I started spreading the word, and when I walked into Bassoon Studio at 4:30, everyone started clapping for me :)

I'm still doing far too much and loving every minute of it.  Last night, Dr. Lyman coached my woodwind quintet on our piece, Two Girls on the Beach Looking for Different Places to Put Down Their Towels, and I think the rest of my quintet is finally comfortable with him rather than being intimidated by him.  He said he thought of us while in St. Barts, because there, you don't have to look for different places to put down your towel.  There is a good spot there, and there, and there, and there ...

The flute studio recital was half an hour after coaching ended, and as I was waiting in the hall, Professor Porter came out from backstage, frantically looking for someone to take pictures of them.  Art student to the rescue!  Unfortunately, the flute studio is infinitely less imaginative than the bassoon studio, and they were insistent upon every flutist being in the pictures, so we had to wait for everyone to get there, and then they didn't even want any funny pictures.  Lame.

Practice time!

  1. Congratulations!! Great name for a musical piece! Totally lame on that last point; probably explains why you play bassoon and they play flute! :)

  3. *Shriek!* Congrats on the job!!! That is just so great. And about loving your insanely busy life in college, you sound just like someone else I know...(for privacy's sake, I won't mention any names, but if you want a hint, his name starts with 'D' and ends in 'avid'. All you need now is a boyfriend to take up any of that time you might have considered sleeping!
